Reaching out to our Young Men with "MENtors"

“MENtors”, is an initiative of ChangePhilly, a community focused movement founded by local activist, Malik Boyd. Malik spent years speaking to school age youth but noticed that the current educational system was not preparing young men in urban settings for success within their own communities. And when community engagement and support finally came, far too often, it came from resources and organizations that these young men could not relate to.  As one who experienced but overcame the effects of violence, lack of quality education and mentor-ship for young men within his community, Malik decided to take action.
